Supporting your career development
As a specialist provider of technical education and skills, Innovion is committed to providing ladders of progression that will enable you to progress through your engineering career.
Attending university to achieve a degree used to be a requirement if you wanted to achieve Chartered Engineer status, but now you can become a Chartered Engineer via the apprenticeship route as well.
Our apprenticeship programmes start at level 3 and go through to degree level; they are complemented by a CPD offer to enhance specific skills and competencies.
For example, if you are just setting out in your career and have recently completed your GCSEs or A Levels, you are likely to start your apprenticeship journey at technician level (level 3). Depending on the role you are undertaking in the business, if you already have A Levels it is feasible to start at level 4 and progress relatively quickly into a senior technician role. However, many businesses will expect you to have gained experience in the workplace first.
If you have been working in the engineering sector as a technician for a while you could talk to your employer about undertaking a level 4 (e.g. Engineering Manufacturing Technician) or even a degree apprenticeship.
